It’s not surprising that the vast majority of Americans – 95% – now own a cellphone of some kind.

What does this mean? Opportunity. Now local businesses have the ability to connect with their customers on a digital realm that hadn’t existed before–at least not to this scale.

According to Statista, “in 2018, 52.2 percent of all website traffic worldwide was generated through mobile phones, up from 50.3 percent in the previous year.”

When was the last time you were searching the web on your phone? Can you remember which sites you visited? Think back to all of the websites you visited yesterday. Now, can you remember if that website had exactly what you were looking for, or did you leave and click on another website?

As the business owner

If you created a website just to check it off your list, then you’ve wasted you and your customers’ time. I say this as a gentle reminder to owners, you are paying for your website. Yes, it’s probably one of your least costly annual bills, but money is still coming out of your pocket with no return on your investment.

This is the first time a lot of customers will have an interaction with your business. Do you really want a customer’s first impression to be “AHH, I can’t find anything on this website!” Not the best starting point… They’re definitely going to remember that frustration next time you pop up in their search engine, and I guarantee they will be clicking on your competitors’ website instead.

Communication

The average salesman spends months learning how to professionally communicate pitch points to win over clients. When he or she jumps on the phone, there’s always going to be those times where they stutter or say “um” and “ah”, but hopefully more practice will help limit this. Of course, every company wants their sales department to have that flawless phone voice, however, it never quite works out that way. A website allows a business to communicate its pitch points in a way that is excitingly different and if done right, much more compelling.

Business owners are immune to the cold call speech. “I can’t talk, I’m in a meeting”. A trained Telemarketer will keep pitching you their product or service until they’ve heard three no’s. Bottom Line: They’re not interested! Unless… you attract them to your website. Your website allows the customer to be in control, which helps to feel less pressured before making a business decision.

The user is in control and they chose to click on your website out of all the thousands of options. That’s amazing!

At Kate Creative Media, we don’t just design extraordinary websites, we go a step further by providing a more interactive and memorable experience with your customers. We bring clients closer to their target market through an improved web presence and effective back-end analytical strategies.
